ABOUT ME

Hi I’m Shona,

I have great passion for capturing portraits, nature, wildlife, landscapes as well as the love for natural golden light and gorgeous sunset skies. My style of photography is combining my love nature at it’s best and beautiful portraits.

I love to capture the heart of families, couples, individuals, children, babies and even pets in a beautiful setting. I love to photograph the freedom of children playing, bonding and having fun with their parents, capturing the natural heartfelt moments.

 

Here is where it all began for me.... Back in my college days, I graduated in Glasgow in craft and design and Illustration which included photography modules. I went on to University to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Digital Art. I have always been creative and loved creating images through different media including; digitally, painting and drawing. I worked in graphic design in the early years of my career using photoshop, illustrator and editing pictures and designs. In a previous role this involved some product photography and photoshop. I loved my first time in a photography studio and it sparked my love of photography. So I bought my own DSLR camera. I was able to use that enthusiasm and creative side to photograph different subjects, including nature and wild life, to practise and hone my skills. I fell in love with capturing nature and all it's beauty. And loved capturing landscapes and beautiful skies.

 

Fast forward 6 years when I when I was expecting my own baby, I began to capture special moments about my life and family. I did my own newborn shoot to capture her tiny toes, hands and feet. I fell in love with her and her cute curls and with capturing these precious moments and photographing her change and grow. This made my passion for portraits blossom.

 

Photography and more importantly portraits quickly became my obsession. I have completed numerous courses in photography to enhance different photography techniques and editing skills. And I’m constantly keeping up with new trends and learning new skills which has taken me to where I am today. I opened my business part-time in 2018 and slowly started growing my portfolio in outdoor portraits in beautiful settings. I also have strong editing skills and spend time on individual photo's handediting each. With a 15 years of experience using photoshop and Lightroom, I can make your images pop and look bright and bold.

 

My passion for photography is everything! I have a strong desire to capture beautiful images in a natural way, using natural light. I love the idea of combing the two: Capturing people within our beautiful nature in a natural way.

 

My aim is to bring you some joy by capturing your beautiful family having fun in the moment. Memories which can always be revisited through your special photographs. I look forward to working with you.
